And lastly, we are given concrete proof on who Magpie is, but the author does some huge injustices to that character and never provides any redemption or other things that the character deserves. We are given hints that Nova might have parts of Ace’s abilities, but it ends up going nowhere. Well, it does end up that way, but no thanks to Nova. We are told in the book that it was a final gift from her father to set things right. The entire plot about that bracelet becomes a wasted effort. Near the end, Nova stops becoming a strong take-charge girl, and sits by doing nothing while those she cared about were in danger or worse. It was a lot of action, a few unexpected turns and twists, and really made me never want to stop reading/listening. Overall, it was a fitting conclusion and resolved most everything the other novels began. This final book of the Renegades series brings everything together, finally pitting Nova and Adrian against each other, revealing their secrets, and showing Ace Anarchy’s plan for the world. Good but not as great as it could have been SPOILERS! Because I have to talk about the parts that make me gasp and stand at the tips of my toes - When we found out Adrian actually created Phobia! Woah - The final entire battle was epic - Magpie is actually Evie?! Good lord I want another book to just explain that I’m now going to go into a book slump because nothing is going to be good after this epic book It’s slightly confused me and made me wonder if they were supposed to be another book but other than that the book is amazing. The only complaint I have about the book is the epilogue. It’s so rare to get a book that crosses all the boxes of good plot, good characters, lots of action, and makes you feel for the characters and this book checks them all. I would 100% recommend this book to anyone with a love of superhero’s or someone who just wants an action packed book to read. Took me a bit to warm up to the guy who reads Adrian’s chapters but eventually I appreciated how he read, too. Rebecca Solaire is a master reader and makes you feel like the characters are actually talking and not just her reading from the book (I also love that she does some sound effects). I was repeatedly shocked (in a good way) and the twists and turns of this masterful plot were so surprising I literally gasped aloud at multiple points! I felt for the characters as they went through heartbreak, betrayal, and happiness.

I loved Renegades from the start but this book was something else. Marissa Meyer has once again delivered a breathtaking series.
